Now i normally don't have a problem with them take your medicene etc but i think this is unfair.
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=wokingham&...,85.77,,0,10.76 The speed trap van was parked up where the RV is on the dirt siding of the road. They have done me for doing 40 in a 30. Someone please tell if i have a case here cause quite frankly im feeling a bit cheated if he can be in a 40 zone catching me entering it at 40. |

yes unfortunately they can, as unsporting as it is
the only chance with this is to show you were in the 40 limit when they pinged you contrary to popular believe the limit doesnt change at the sign, it changes were the road order says it does, which ,may be were the signs are or may not write for pictures to help id the driver, this will give you the range they got you at, if it marginal as to if you were in the 40 or not, it would be worth checking if the sign location is correct -------------------- jobo

There is one other thing that might give you an argument if you were caught very near the 30mph signs, and that is if the signs were so positioned or obscured by, say, vegetation, that you could not see them sufficiently far in advance to slow down to the limit by the time you reached them.
It has been held that: There is a requirement that at the geographical point where the motorist exceeded the limit, the requisite signs could reasonably be expected to have conveyed the limit to an approaching motorist in sufficient time for the motorist to reduce from a previous lawful speed to a speed within the new limit. The OP was allegedly caught in a 30mph area heading towards 40mph signs.
