OP.

Simple question:

Does your sticker clearly show the BS AU 145 mark?

I have just walked along the street and there is a car parked over a double yellow line. It happens all the time - would this have any kind of impact on my challenging of the ticket I received? It just seems so unfair.

No.

What matters is what YOU were doing whilst parked, not what others might be doing whilst they are parked.

The CEO does not have to hang around waiting for you to return. Dropping off your child may prove to be an exemption depending on details.

Post up all sides of PCN.

It does comply with dvla standards,

Your sticker will not have a BS AU 145d mark because it doesn't comply to BS AU 145d. Start with the bend test.

What DVLA say on their website is not legislation. Easy enough to Google.

So?

I have had a self adhesive plate on my Noble for 10 years and never been pulled. I have friends and customers who are traffic cops. But i know it's illegal and i know i would lose in court.

Self-adhesive number plates have never been legal. I doubt very much a "sticker" will show the BS AU mark.

Whether it complies with the law is a simple matter of fact.

If you want to win in court, you will need to demonstrate that your sticker complies with all the relevant reg. plate legislation. Can you do that?

Simply standing up and saying "i can't see anything wrong with it" will not win the case. Losing in court will incur the fine plus costs and victim surcharge.

BTW. A cop that repeatedly stops you for repeatedly breaking the law isn't harassment.

As a driver, if i see a sign giving me priority in a narrow carriageway, i should be able to travel that carriageway without having to avoid oncoming traffic that has obviously disregarded the signage giving me priority.

I bet the motorcyclist would be the first to moan if he got hit by a car that had right of way...

Why do motorcyclists seem to pick and choose which road signs apply to them and which don't?

Out of interest, what caused him to find out the police were looking for him? What did the police do?

Why start a new thread for the same case when you already have one running?

It seems to me that it wasn't practical for him to provide the information, since he didn't receive the request.

We don't know when it was posted, and whether OP was living at that address at the time of posting. If he was, then CPS can, if they still have the documentation, rely on presumption of delivery.

If that's City of London's policy, then so be it. CoFP it is. As said before, there is no entitlement to any course.

Video shows back of signs & one-way arrow. However isn't it what is on the PCN evidence & not on anything extra?

The video is the evidence of the moving contravention. The PCN photo is just a snapshot.

Presumably your friend was not aware DYLs cover from middle of the road to property line including kerb, verge and pavement etc? What made friend think they could park on a roundabout? Photos suggest bang-to-rights on contravention.

Get friend to post up both sides of PCN and link to GSV.

And what was friend doing whilst parked?

the van was parked while delivery was being made and it is my understanding that for this purpose we are allowed up to 20 minutes even though there are double yellow lines.

Your understanding is incorrect.

There is no set time allowed. The time allowed is what is absolutely necessary. No more. If you were mobile groomimg as per your van signage, then you're bang to rights.

If you were making a delivery you'll have a signed delivery note or similar?

He has no entitlement to a course, but can, if he wishes, call the police and ask why he was not offered one.

He says signs were not visible? Specsavers might be able to assist him!
