Hi Guys,
No idea if this is the right place for this kind of question but I don't know who else to ask.
I'll keep it short!
We went on holiday to Seville. My wife left her pyjama bottoms behind at the hotel. Hotel said that they would forward them back to us in the UK using Fedex.
They charged us what seemed an expensive €30 and they arrived a week later.
Couple of weeks later we get an invoice from Fedex for an additional £20 for import duties.
I ignored this and a couple more letters as it seemed unreasonable that there would be import tax on second hand pyjama bottoms that already belonged to us.
I've now received a letter from a debt collection agent.

Is this right? Can send random bills that you don't expect?

Thanks

Do you understand the powers of a debt collector? Your posts suggest not.

Hint - only to write scary sounding letters.

As such I really wouldn't bother - at all.

I really only did it to waste some more of their time.

Having reviewed the above mentioned invoice(s), we can now confirm that a credit of 21.00 GBP has been raised.

They've probably spent that much and more in chasing this round and round until finally deciding to put it in the "not worth the hassle" pile.

That'll do for me. If more people did this they would sort out their dodgy practises.
Sending an unexpected additional invoice two weeks after delivery isn't right.
