Good afternoon learned folks.
I would like to draw on your experience to understand how the process works for recovering debt. I have two judgments against a former tenant. One for £1200 and one for £5500 I traced him and applied for an attachment to earnings order back in December last year. Court got him to provide details of employer and relevant expenditure etc. When court approached employer for salary details they said he had left employment in February. I contacted the court today for an update and they said that they had done nothing since mid March when they got the employers response. They will today issue an N61 form via bailiffs for him to resubmit employment details. I think my options are:
The fact that the court did nothing between March and today, when I chased them, means I don't have much confidence in option 1 Is the £66 the limit of my additional costs if I go the High Court enforcement route? Can you please give me any guidance on how quickly these things usually play out? This post has been edited by Slatz: Mon, 20 May 2019 - 13:43 |

Can you please give me any guidance on how quickly these things usually play out? How long is a piece of string? Will the former tenant have any assets worth taking if enforcement agents visit him? -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

If the sheriffs can't get a payment there may be a small additional cost.
I thought I'd heard it on that Channel 5 program they have. Found this |
