Was a bit silly Saturday morning and parked in a local council car park, and only intending to be 5 minutes with no CEO's in sight, nipped off without buying a ticket.
https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.2373606,-...3312!8i6656 (Spot next to the white van) Well, I got held up and returned 11 minutes later just as the CEO was printing the ticket. Bang to rights I guess, and £25 doesn't seem too unreasonable so I'm minded to pay it, but I figure it's worth a punt with informal reps, are there any grounds with the PCN text? |

So you chanced your arm and lost. I'm not sure how you expect us to help. Any appeal can only be for an error on the PCN and I see no obvious errors of content.

You can ask for discretion but for what did you 'nip off' for? A doc's note for temporary insanity may swing it, if not an irresistible call of nature.

Gotta admit, it's refreshing to read an honest post. Credit to Raxiel.
Better than the all to infrequent 'indignant of sumtown', "I was only on zig zags for 37 minutes; how dare the *?+)*@>% CEO give me a ticket !!!?" But, like others, I'm seeing nothing helpful. -------------------- |

Thanks for the comments.
If the PCN had any particular egregious errors (not that I could see any either) I might have put in an appeal based on 'we both made mistakes, lets drop it' Since it's only me in the wrong, I'll just pay up this time. To be fair, the local council CEO's are pretty reasonable. He did say if I'd left a note with my time of arrival and 'gone for change, back soon' he'd have done another lap before writing me up. Biggest issue is I had my town residents permit (free before 10 and after 3) on display, suggesting to him I'd arrived before 10 and was half an hour over and way past any benefit of the doubt, when in fact it just lives on the dash and I'd only been there 5 when he first saw me As for my reasons - I'd gone to rent a carpet cleaner from the co-op nearby, so not in any way urgent. I'd just nipped in to see if they actually had one available intending to drive into their loading bay to collect it, but then I noticed the road is posted loading by HGV only, and not wanting to get a ticket when I saw how quiet it was thought I'd be able to check it out fast enough to get back. Obviously I thought wrong. Frustratingly co-op will reimburse parking once you spend a certain amount, so It needn't have cost me a penny. Live and learn.
