Good afternoon. Long time since i have been on here, Im after some help or guidance, a police officer who stopped me on Thursday initially said i was uninsured, after half hour and me proving i was insured, and then a search of my vehicle which yielded nothing, he then wanted a drug wipe test, so i agreed as, I have included a picture of the result, which is the faintest positive i have ever seen, I informed the officer i have been using cocodamol which has codeine in it for nausea as i have coronavirus and have ahd it for the last ten days quite badly, although it had been at least 4 days or so since i last took cocodamol, and if im to be honest with you guys, 6 full days since (friday evening before approx 9pm) i had last used a very small amount of cocaine in a social setting. I know i shouldnt do drugs and i am ashamed and wont do them again, i have had a clean license for well over ten years now and proud of it. The blood is currently at the lab for testing (sample taken 8:30pm thursday) (6 full days since last use), can anybody tell me what they think my chances are of getting away with this? Thanks and once again apologies for being an idiot and taking cocaine. If i do get away with this it will be the kick up the backside i need. If i dont, and i lose my license its going to be awfull for me.
The picture i took of the test was after ten minutes time had passed since taking the test so the full amount of time had passed. This post has been edited by bobwinner: Sat, 30 Jul 2022 - 12:03 |

I suggest you try and find a lab that is open for business. I find it hard to believe that not a single lab in the country would analyse your samble, and if that were the case you'd need compelling evidence to prove it. In theory if you could show that the Crown has crowded out the market buy buying all all testing capacity in the country, that would raise issues around a fair trial, but to prove that it is impossible to get your own sample tested the evidence would need to be truly overwhelming. Hi, i cant afford the 500 pound they want to test it, the only lab that was offering testing out of the whole booklet the police gave me,, not in this climate, its been 2 months now and i havent heard anything yet. Can you afford not to? -------------------- Speeding tickets, like lottery tickets, are a voluntary tax. You don't have to get them.

Why potentially waste £500 now when based on the strength of the line then the police test may come back negative anyway? Providing the second sample doesn't have a time limit for testing then just wait to see what the police sample comes back as first.

It won’t come back negative, it will either come back with either under or over the specified permitted amount. This post has been edited by BluntyMcCrow2: Sun, 25 Sep 2022 - 06:57 |

Not sure Solanum tuberosum is relevant.

Much like the distinction between a test coming back "negative" and "under the permitted amount"

Providing the second sample doesn't have a time limit for testing then just wait to see what the police sample comes back as first. The risk is that if the police test comes back positive, and the other sample is too old and no longer usable for a test, the only evidence that could disprove the offence might have been lost through the passage of time. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php

Hi guys, personally i hate online threads where the op does not return to post an outcome so heres an update, had a letter through the door this morning off the police, it was a thin envelope with one slice of paper which gave me hope, as summons are usually a few pages thick. Yes, a no further action with zero traces of any drug in my blood. Just want to say a big thankyou to those who replied to me and helped me over the last ten or so weeks of limbo. So until next time, happy motoring and stay safe guys but more importantly, lessons have been learned and remember. Drugs are for mugs.
