Hi all - I know this is the wrong place to post this, but there is no other board I can find where it would belong. How do I remove my user account? It's a legal requirement to provide members with the option to remove but I cannot find the option anywhere?
Thanks |

It seems very unlikely that there is any legal requirement, but no doubt if you contact a moderator your account can be removed.

Perhaps the much vaunted 'right to be forgotten'?

It's a legal requirement to provide members with the option to remove I look forward to hearing exactly what this legal requirement is that I've never heard of. As in actual legislation, rather than vague assertions, please. However from looking at your recent thread I suspect that what you actually want is for the thread to be removed, since you somewhat unwisely made some admissions there and didn't edit them out, despite this being strongly recommended to you. I've removed your thread, but, as I have to point out to everyone who gets themselves into this pickle, the thread will almost certainly have been indexed by Google and/or other search engines by now, and there's nothing we can do to remove those copies - and of course any interested parties may already have made their own copies. -------------------- Regards,

I have no need for it and the way it appears impossibe to delete an account makes me want to leave even quicker! Who ever has responded below is rude and should probably have a look at the Information Commissioners Office website and read all about GDPR. I look forward to hearing from you on how I can delete my account. Regards |

I look forward to hearing from you on how I can delete my account. You could just ask, instead of making a big song and dance about it, and it will be deleted - as yours now has been. -------------------- Regards,

Speaking of Google, could HeWhoCannotBeNamed ask Google to delete the cache copy under the infamous EU "Right to be Forgotten"?

Please remove my account Sure - although what the point is when the only thing you've posted is a request to be deleted, I'm not sure. -------------------- Regards,
