Hi peeps, 1st post here and im after some help!

My brother went to our local B&Q car park which is monitored my parking attendants (NCP iirc), and parked his scooter on the pavement outside Argos (in the same carpark, up against the wall), quickly rushed in to buy something, and came out and he had a PCN stuck to his bike.

Now the silly idiot (brother) buried his head in the sand and it wasnt until 2 weeks after and another letter telling him he now had to pay £90, was it until i found out. So i looked at his PCN and there was an obvious error. The bike is made by Peugeot and on the PCN it said Honda. So i wrote to them appealing the PCN and they said that as he was the registered owner of the vehicle, and that he had parked in an unauthorised area he had to pay the fine?

Ive got the letters and PCN still but i cant see how they can make him pay the fine if the PCN says Honda on it even if they prove he is the registered owner?

Any help much apreciated

Lewis.

Sounds like a private ticket.
When dealing with "tickets" from private parking companies (PPCs) our advice is to ignore them. For more information about this recommendation and private parking companies, click this link.

What does the "P" of "PCN" on your ticket stand for?

-"Penalty"? In which case it may be a legitimate council ticket, and you should post it up here.
-"Parking"? In which case it's a private ticket; an unenforcable speculative invoice; a joke.

Sounds like a PPC ticket. Have a look at it and see if there is any reference to a council or the TMA 2004.

If not you brother has some toilet paper - and will be sent more later in different coloured ink.

If it's a PPC ticket pretending to be official, ignore it and don't contact them again.

Look at the Stickies to see the typical NCP letter chain.

They won't risk court with one of these tickets because it would put all their council contracts at risk if they were found to be involved in dodgy behaviour.
