The difficulty you face is that the course has to be accepted and taken within six months of the offence.

I thought it was 4 months, not 6 months.

Restaurant is very apologetic now and they gave me letter that I was legally parked.

So tell them to instruct CEL to discontinue the court claim.

The PCN is dated 13 July (a Friday). It arrived through my door on Tuesday 17 July in an "advanced first class mail" envelope. If really posted on date of issue it should have arrived on Saturday or Monday.

Royal Mail's performance utterly irrelevant.

Your a fine one to be making that statement rolleyes.gif

Err, in my case it took longer than it should arrive.

In this case PCN was posted Friday and arrived two business days later. Perfectly acceptable.

II'd suggest for the future if it's a choice between going in to a Bus Lane or holding up buses or other traffic then do the latter ...just make them wait .

The alcohol limit for drivers is 80 milligrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood

Are you saying 79mg is OK and 81mg isn't?

Assuming prosecution starts when the limit is exceeded, then from a legal point of view 81mg is obviously not OK. Bit of a daft example.

We need to see the video, so call them and explain you're unable to view it.

Also post all sides of PCN.

Re-post the PCN and their reply leaving in all except your personal info;
Post the NTO;
Post your challenge, including when and how it was sent.

These are the basics, let’s leave Jane for a while pl.

Just so I am clear, are you stating that you want me to leave in the PCN number, where the alleged contravention was seen and the date and time of the contravention on the PCN and their reply?
I blacked out those parts as I thought that was what I was supposed to do to avoid identification of myself according to the how to post a pic thread.

Just redact name, address, reg no and pcn no. Leave in all times. dates and location.

After following advice from people I’ve completely ignored the first letter I was sent

Advice to ignore changed in 2012.

Post up the correspondence you haver received (redact ref. no., reg no., and personal details. Leave dates, times and location in).

Let's see a GSV too.

Hmmm why would I need to post all that info? Just cautious about giving away personal information.

I advised you to redact personal info.

I reckon they have simply sent this first Nip late.

I reckon you're completely wrong.

But to be sure why not a) find your V5C and check RK details, and b) call them and ask them why the NIP is so late.

I got code 01.

I was on Legonier Street E2, time plate of CPZ was on other side and further down on my side. I was parked under a yellow template stating "Midnight to 8am 8:30pm to midnight" .

Did you pass and fail to see a CPZ sign when entering the CPZ, or did you not pass one at all? If the CPZ sign was missing, it will help you. That's why you were advised to retrace your steps.

I'm not suggesting you pay, but parking notice "in" time was 17.56. Even with 10 mins for choosing a parking space, you still weren't at the 18.30 cut off time.

Or have i misunderstood?

If sent by post on 7th, too late, it would not arrive in time.

Just clarifying - 7th was a Saturday, so if posted, last day of posting 1st class would be Wednesday 4th, which is 2 business days before Friday 6th?

If by email, anytime until 23.59 on 7th?

OP.

I think we can all be confident you'll hear no more about this. So no need to update the forum each month.

You definitely need your witness statements:

So the general advice seems to be, fill in the NIP, return it and hope for the best.

Correct. Failure to complete and return the S.172 is a separate offence attracting 6 points and hefty fine.

i'm just under the three years since I did a SA course. I guess 3 points and £100 fine?

From what you've posted, yes.

Post all sides of PCN and link to video. If video confirms what you say it should be an easy win.

No paper copy? Every RK has a paper copy of their V5C.

You must have a current V5C for your car. Which presumably should have the same address as the one you live at, i.e. no. 20
