Parked in a private car park on the private housing estate where my daughter has just moved to. Had my blue badge on display. The parking attendant has always let us park there even though there are no disabled parking bays, as long as I am displaying the blue badge. Today I got a PCN for 'not parking wholly within a marked parking bay'. I admit I was edging over into another bay, but the car park was empty so I didnt think it was any big deal (I didnt even notice I had done it until I got back). Can I fight this ?

Edit so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred
Post up the PCN suitably redacted but leave dates. Is there a photo of the overlap? |

Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of how much I over lapped. I do remember when I parked another car next to me had overlapped which made me overlap into the next bay where a motor bike was parked. Both were gone when I returned to my car.
Having problems uploading the picture. Keeps saying the file is too big, but I have reduced it down to only 300k in Jpeg and PDF. Will keep trying Keep getting this message Select a file PCN.jpg Attachment space used 1.88MB of 1.95MB Error Upload failed. The file was larger than the available space This post has been edited by JD1966: Wed, 11 Nov 2020 - 09:19 |

Edit so that the identity of the driver cannot be inferred This IS important..... You have the notice as the keeper of the car and will deal with it as such, describe what 'the driver' did with no I, we they, he or even the dog. You need to edit so there is no we, her , she, him, etc
It is the driver all the time, "the driver" did this or that. |

This is a windscreen ticket so the suggested method of dealing with this is to appeal the notice AS THE KEEPER who was been handed the PCN so that the appeal arrives on day 26. Appeal about what you like, unclear signage missing signage.
The aim is to get them to respond to you as the keeper and continuing to try and get you to pay without issuing a Notice to Keeper within 56 days nor contacting the DVLA, either is a POFA fail and no keeper liability. The day 26 is because they can contact the DVLA on day 28 and it also gets it closer to day 56 |

Can anyone help me with advice about uploading pictures on here. I have converted my files from JPEGs to PDFs, reduced the size and resolution yet still get the same message

Use an external hosting site such as imgur and put the link to the image in here.

The first one didn't work but the rest did.
As it's the IPC you will just have to see if they take it further. If it gets to court I think they would be in difficulties. |

The letter that wouldnt open was my appeal letter. I have uploaded it a few more times, so hopefully you can now open it.
https://johnd1966.imgur.com/all I have also noticed (unless I an reading them wrong) that the original ticket was for 'Vehicle not parked wholly within a marked parking bay' yet on their rejection letter it says 'This PCN was issued because the vehicle was found to be parked in a permit holders only area and failed to display a VALID parking permit' |
