I'm probably bang to rights, but don't lose anything by checking.

I parked on Keith Court after driving down Keith St. (turn off shown by red arrow in image). On entry to keith st. there is signage to only park in bays. I (incorrectly) assumed turning off onto Keith Court would not have the same restrictions, and I parked in an unmarked area (No paint, or signage visible, see photos).

Returned to find my car missing, paid the fee to release the car.

PCN and web images state I was parked in Keith Street, when the car was clearly in Keith Court. There is also an image of a random blue ford in my evidence file. Do I have any case for an appeal?

Thanks,

Jack

I recall trying to find Glasgow's towing policy - someone made an FoI on this and bizarrely the council says it holds no policy but a company called City Parking does, which i think is owned by the council. But City seems to me to only run car parks.

Another person asked City and this is the priority list for tow - you are no 2 of 3:

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/city...=whatdotheyknow

Priority 1

. Vehicles parked on corners at road junctions (double yellow road/double yellow
kerb markings)

. Vehicles parked in contravention of Route Action Plans/Bus Lane Orders

. Vehicles parked in Suspended Parking Bays

. Vehicles parked in contravention of a restriction, which indicates no waiting/loading at prescribed times (particularly during Clearway Times)

. Vehicles parked in a Disabled Badge Holders Bay whilst not displaying a valid
Blue badge.

. Vehicles parked at 'No Waiting/Loading' cones enforced by a Temporary Traffic
Regulation Order (and confirmed as parked after the placement of the cones).

. Non goods vehicles parked in a goods vehicles only loading bay

Priority 2

. Vehicles parked within a Bus Bay

. Vehicles parked within a Taxi Rank

. Vehicles parked or loading/unloading in a restricted street where waiting and
loading/unloading restrictions are in force.

Priority 3

. Vehicles incorrectly parked within a parking bay (occupying two bays).

. Persistent Offenders (parking contravention must be taking place to justify the
removal of the vehicle).

Thanks for the info on towing policy. interesting.
Below images clearly show the car parked on Keith Ct. and not Keith St. as on PCN. if I send this in with the appeal stating it did not occur as per the pcn, is this the correct action?

I searched this forum for wrong street and the seemed to be the done thing.

Wrong location can often be fatal to the PCN but here it's a continuation but a point worth making of course. See what others say.

have you been given paperwork to appeal the tow?

the rest is privacy statements etc.

Should I just appeal saying the the infraction did not occur as I was not at the location? and send the pics of the location with it?

Maybe post a draft here first.

The letter says I am to email my appeal. I also checked on the ringgo app and the council do have keith st and keith court as different streets, matching up with google maps.

***************

Dear Glasgow City Council,

I am writing to request the cancellation and refund on Penalty Charge Notice No. XXXXX, and associated recovery costs.

I am appealing it on the grounds that the contravention did not occur because the vehicle was not at the location stated.

Please see attached parking attendants photos, clearly showing the car was at Keith Court, and not Keith street as stated on the PCN.

Kind Regards,

Jack

It's ok to send?
