A bit cheeky I know, but there seems to be a lot of technical members so here goes...

Looking to upgrade my current (very basic) internet hosting package, I want something along the lines of http://www.fasthosts.co.uk/hosting/windows2003/windowsbusiness/.

Had a bad experience with FastHosts in the past, seem to have got act together. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

NB: due to the bandwidth & space I'm looking at, there'll certainly be some free space, and could quite happily set up an FTP account for members to freely use and share some private space.

Fasthosts, yes, well, enough said.

Have a word with http://www.titaninternet.co.uk/.  I've got two work servers co-located with them as well as my private web/e-mail.

Thanks Chri5, seems to be similar to my current host (DatabasePower).

Been looking at www.oneandone.co.uk - seems just as cheap as FastHosts (I *don't* want to use!).

Any experience of these fellas? The 10gb space + 80gb bandwidth, and the SQL servers are 2 * 200 mb.

There's got to be a catch...!

My company has some domains hosted at 1&1 and a Linux root server. Also a friend has the basic website package.

None of these are that heavily used but we have never had any probems. The root server has been running for a couple of years without a reboot (that's Linux for you!).

If there is a catch we haven't found out what it is yet!

Cheers fellas - I think I'll give 1&1 a go, can't argue with what you get for the money (only way to test service is trying eh).

I liked the look of ukwebsolutionsdirect.co.uk - unfortunately I have the need to occasionally need ASP (spit!) and some SQL databases.

FYI: 1&1 top-end MS hosting packages includes 2(!) x 200 mb MS SQL databases - crikey!
