Please i need expert help regarding a situation am involved in. A friend of my travelled on holiday and parked his car at my flat which is on a private land, but on returning from work i found out his car was gone and no letter or notice was left to inform me of who took it. I had to call the police and they informed me of what happened and gave me the baiillifs contact number.

I explained to him the car is not mine and am looking after it for a friend who travelled and he has no right to come clamp or towed the car away from a private land. He told me he has a court order that gave him the right to and also to the location. I demanded to see the court order but he refused to show and send me any proof,

have read several article about how bailiffs are not allowed to clamp cars on private land as long as its not the registered keepers address or where he resides which in this case, both do not apply.

please i need help regarding this situation as the bailiff won't co-operate and thinks i don't know my right.

You may care to post this on the Legal beagles forums, https://legalbeagles.info/forums/ . There are quite a few bailiffs experts.

Unfortunately this has nothing to do with you, so quite right that they won't show you paperwork related to someone elses debt. It may be your friend, it may be someone you don't know at all!

Your friend will have to deal with it.

Of course they can clamp on private land, they do it on driveways all the time!

I doubt this was as the result of a private parking incident, if it was due to a council PCN then this really needs to be in the council forum.

If it's your friends car, and your friend has an issue that has had to bailiff issues, then your friend will need to sort it out.
Nothing to do with you, although you can help by letting your friend see this topic on here so that he/she can follow the advice
