I parked here (I am not disabled), but I was confused by this sign. Is it open to everybody or just disabled? The white box was marked out on the road, but there was nothing inside it that suggested that it was for disabled only. (There were some faded double yellow lines there though!). Needless to say, I didn't get a ticket.

As Stamfordman says, the only purpose of the disabled sign is to limit them to the same parking as everyone else (normally they wouldn’t be). So you can park there 8 til 8 for no more than 20 mins, disabled or not.

Thanks guys. (I didn't receive notification that there had been replies!). I just found it confusing. I have never seen a sign restricting disabled people previously.

The sign is formatted as it is so as not to fall foul of s7 here

Though I am not convinced it does

To me the inclusion of the word "only" within the disabled section makes it a bay for BB holders only.
Which to me says that there are two, conflicting parking restrictions in place.
Apart from that I agree that it is most likely to be attempting to restrict BB holders to 3 hours.
Which IMO does not fall foul of S7 due to S7(b)
"(b)the prohibition does not apply to all vehicles except disabled persons' vehicles." (my bold)

You mean 20 minutes.

The 'only' is ambiguous as it can mean BB only for 20 mins but I agree the word usually means the space is only for whomever. At least the top sign is on top.

But when reading both signs does not the prohibition apply to All vehicles Top sign. Bottom sign only applies to BB holders so can the bottom sign have precedence over the top sign. IMO that would not be allowed in the normal placement of signs for TSRGD with the most onerous restriction on top

Nice to see you DD by the way, your thoughts are missed
