Where can I change some old UK currency I have found?
Will any mainstream banks take them or is it a trip to Threadneedle street for redemption? |

If it's recently obsoleted banknotes then a High Street bank will probably exchange them. Otherwise, (assuming that by UK currency you mean English/Welsh currency), unless you really fancy a day trip to Threadneedle Street then the Bank of England does provide a postal service.

Old fivers, pound coins and tenners (all recently changed) were happily changed at my bank (HSBC) for new ones before Christmas after wife found a stash.
Many supermarket trolleys still accept old pound coins BTW but not found any parking payment machines that do This post has been edited by DancingDad: Mon, 28 Jan 2019 - 23:44 |

The number of you with dodgy mattresses and floorboards is disturbing.
Knew of someone locally who lost an estimated £80K in a secret stash when Dad died and Council gutted and cleared. Having met him a few times, I believe it. -------------------- |

Where can I change some old UK currency I have found? Bank of England series B through E can be exchanged at any high street bank, series A and earlier hand-written notes need to go back to the Bank of England. The Bank of England accepts postal exchanges, though of course you'd have to use Special Delivery with insurance up to the relevant value, for details on the process see https://www.bankofengland.co.uk/banknotes/e...g-old-banknotes -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php
