Hello I'm a newbie here but have such gratitude and respect for contributors to this forum and have referred to it for many a challenge!
Stupidly I failed to give my VRN on my visitors parking permit for the day (outside my home in Lambeth, so the car was there all day) resulting in a PCN. All other details were correct. Is there any point in challenging? Am imagining no. I do have a few unfortunate personal details in the hope of a sympathetic letting-off - but can't imaging that would ever work. Have already searched but couldn't find similar enough post. thanks in anticipation |

All London councils have very hard hearts but no harm in submitting informal reps. Don't lay it on with a trowel but if you do have a recognised medical condition, there's no harm in mentioning it.
Please post up the PCN, all sides, so we can search it for fatal errors. |

I see from a Lambeth policy manual (oldish) that they cancel if you forget to scratch out the year. They must though consider your (polite) challenge that this was an honest mistake, and you should also stress that you are a resident (why are you using a visitor's voucher? Hire car?).
A permit fully filled out bar the VRM cannot be used on another day, so this they should consider. The only prospect of fraud is if you moved the permit from car to car with the intent of filling in the VRM when moved but this would be daft. Thank you for your replies. I've scanned in the front and back.
Briefly, my precious dad died three months ago and i'm staying half at mums, driving her around in his beloved banger - and driving it back up to London at weekends. I've lent my 'residents-permitted' car to my BF (hopefully temporarily!) |

OK well in the absence of any response I will have a go saying what's been said on this forum. Thanks for your advice so far. |
