I had someone who got very unpleasant because they had come into A&E by ambulance because they wanted someone to explain their phone bill.

When they were put as the lowest priority they kicked off repeatedly. Takes all sorts.

With no signs of injury/illness?

I would have thought it qualifies as a mental illness?

I have to question why the ambulance crew even took them to hospital ?

I don't know the circumstances, luckily other than knowing the priority triaging ambulance crews isn't part of my job.

A lot of inappropriate admissions do come down to mental illness or learning disability but bringing them into ED just to be seen to be doing something is equally pointless as well.
