Hello,

For starters, my wife collected two of these fines trying to get school kids to a school football game.

The back story is that our primary school does not have school transport, so they ask for parents to help transport instead. She did and doesn't know the area, found her way and tried to find parking close to the school to deliver the kids for the school organised game.

The game was organised for kick off at 4pm, so getting from one school across Croydon Borough to the other was tight enough.

It looks to be that the restriction signs are up on the junction of the road, so once you've stopped and indicate to turn in, it's awkward to cancel the maneuver. That said, she did it twice which is not helpful, but just shows she did not see the sign.

I've tried going through the school and they are not responding, so not helpful.

I'm hoping you have some words of advice.

Thanks

There are a couple of roads there with those school time restrictions, which are becoming common in London. I would expect some advance warning signs on that busy road and that could be an angle.

Post the PCNs. Put pics on https://imgbb.com or such like.

Also see if there are videos on council site.

Hi, PCN image link:

https://ibb.co/C8Y9sTS

There is not exactly advanced notice, only a sign which says "Traffic Enforcement Cameras".
There is no video on the council PCN link, just static images of the car having entered the time restricted road.

Could it also be worth mentioning that six parents who were taking children to the school fixture all received fines, none saw or understood the restrictions.

Yes, she and another of the group was trying to find a close by parking to deliver the school football team. So they went round the block and came back again.

There is actually video, I found it, it doesn't have a different angle to the photo on the PCN letter though.

I think you can probably ask for discretion on the second one and pay the first at discount. This is probably the best result you can hope for here.
