Hi,
A driver of my wife's car had a bit of a mare on a day trip to Manchester and picked up a parking ticket. I feel it is important to point out that they were travelling with a hungry 4 week old child which has lead to them making some poor choices... After parking up and a bit of a faff with the machine they have purchased a ticket. It's one of those machines that requires you to put in your reg. In their haste they have entered the registration for my car, despite the fact my wife's car was parked there. On top of entering the wrong registration number, the driver also managed to overstay by 11 minutes, having bought a ticket for up to 18.34, and then leaving at 18.45. In these circumstances is there any possibility of appealing this charge? Parking Charge and the ticket they bought are below. Thanks in advance for any help or advice! Are Euro Car Parks likely to push this to court? Would the defence used in the initial appeal be successful if it was to go that far?

1) Unlikely, a few minutes ersearch gives you that inbfo
2) It SHOULD be, and of course is expanded upon to form an actual *defence* and not an appeal, as they are two different beasts, but there is always litigaiton risk. |

Thanks for all of your advice guys. Unfortunately my wife is being scared off from holding out by a former colleague. She's a trainee legal exec, and has been told a tale of someone who tried to ignore a parking ticket, got taken to court, got a CCJ, and now can't practice law.
Looks like we'll be paying As a final roll of the dice, I may insist on appealing to POPLA and paying the extra if we lose. |

What extra ? it only costs Euro Car Parks if a POPLA appeal is actioned.
As for whoever told her the tale of the CCJ omitted that whoever it was must have also ignored claim papers, or lost the case and ignored and not paid the judgement within one month and so got a CCJ recorded. As they missed that lot then they deserve to not be to practise law. Euro Car Parks are ***** cats and can be ignored. |

Geez
Wow, that "trainee" knows jack You have to lose to get a CCJ. And if you pay it within a month it does NOT APPEAR on anything So dont pay. |

Google probably has more legal knowledge on this than your wife's former colleague!
The clue is in the word 'judgement', which only occurs at the end of the civil hearing. You then get a month to pay up before the CCJ is registered against you. You're in control the whole time. -------------------- Sometimes I use big words I don't understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
