Hello all

I was hoping for some advice.

On the 20th of March 2020, I parked in the 'Britannia Adelphi' car park ran by ParkingEye. I bought a £6.50 (which I have kept), which covered me for 6 hours. I over stayed by 13 minutes, due to cancelled trains to the COVID19 virus. Ticket bought at 08:07, pictured leaving at 14:20.

Should I appeal the £60 (£100 if paid in 14 days) notice? And if so, how should I best go about this?

I did send them a default letter (one which previously got a ticket dropped vs SmartParking), but ParkingEye have bothered to put up a fight and reply.

Kind regards and thank you in advance.

What does your 'default' letter say?

Does the site allow you to top up before leaving? Was there a phone number to call?

Does the reverse of their PCN mention Protection of Freedoms Act? Have you revealed the driver?

There's possibly an argument of frustration of contract - you agreed a contract but could not perform it (leave on time) due to factors outside your control (delayed train).

They will be operating a 10 minute grace period, so annoyingly just 3 minutes...

RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver

PPC=Private Parking Company, LBCCC=Letter Before County Court Claim, PII=Personally Identifiable Information, SAR=Subject Access Request

Private Parking - remember, they just want your money and will say almost anything to get it.
