Hopefully I've come to the right place, please redirect me if not.
I've received a penalty notice EPC for not buying the vigniette while driving in this summer (well we did try to buy it...) From looking on the internet it seems that EPC have no teeth to enforce this. I've not heard of any cases of they going to court and assume it's probably safe to ignore the letter (an no doubt many more to come). However if anyone knows otherwise please let me know as if I'm going to have to pay I might as well pay sooner rather than later. |

Because it's a penalty, not a query about parking on private land.
I agree to ignore it though. |

The Hungarian government could do something about it in the UK criminal courts, but the procedure is cumbersome and seldom used. So long as a private debt collector (EPC Hungary Kft) is handling it, there is nothing to be gained from interacting with them in any way. Unless you want to pay them, of course, which you are free to do.
