I've had a 'nasty' one on my car for ages  I've been pulled a total of 0 times, but get lots of interested looks, and scowls from policemen who are behind  -------------------- Regards, Insider

We were going to do 'bumper stickers' for Pepipoo. What happened? It seemed a great idea to me.

In a nutshell, nobody could be ar$ed to offer their assistance It took long enough to sort the mugs and design out, and i've spent more than enough time sorting them out.... Are you offering :D -------------------- Regards, Insider

I did a design and some tests, but making those in CAD cut vinyl was unfortunately too labour intensive (something like fifteen minutes per sticker). The design was eventually used on the mugs, but I suspect the stickers might do well. A friend recently had some stickers made for his NYPD car using some designs I did, I will ask him how much they cost and see what the costs (or rather profits) would be. edit: I still have those test stickers on backing paper and the reflective one "ready to go", reckon they would sell on ebay? Should really have given one to anton to put on his car for the Inside Out programme... Gareth -------------------- Found anything useful? Become a BB&G!

I might be able to help guys. Our car club got some stickers made up no problems which we sell for only a few pounds. Let me know if you are interested and I'll pass on the printers name.

Were these the vinyl 'cling' type or adhesive-backed? This idea comes up from time to time & I'm sure a 'non-destructive' bumper sticker design would be popular. The logistics do seem to be more of an issue than the design, certainly for nice heavy mugs :bom: -------------------- Regards,

I'd prefer the clingy type rather than sticky back vinyl - place in back window where it is protected from the weather and can be seen easily from behind....

I'd be wary of pepipoo bumper stickers...
1. would you be seen as "just asking for it" by the cops? 2. I can imagine the "flame pit" being the ground for "who was the ba$tard pepipoo'er in the such and such a car (registration ....) who cut me up", and so on... 3. Shelby (Buffalo Bill)... need I say more |

Ah, but the back window will obscure the rear view and guarantee a ticket there. In fact I recall somebody was pulled over the cops for having an ABD home-made sticker and told to take it off. Then again, that would just be another one for the "Cases in Progress" forum! How about "I being prosecuted" ? I would have told the copper to *$^* off!!! As long as there are two wing mirrors on your vehicle you can obscure/cover your rear window as much as you like!! darn jobsworths -------------------- Flash, flash, bugger!
Have you benefited from Pepipoo? I have, 2 Speeding and numerous parking tickets won!! Please help the fight The Flop |

As for obscuring the view - it depends on the size of the sticker - a bumper sticker is, by its very nature, limited in size and can be positioned so as to not obscure the screen.
What about the dealer stickers? I wasn't thinking of one of these massive ones like the cruise boys seem to run and get away with. I can also see chadders point but we all drive properly don't we......... Also, AFAIA, there is nothing in the MOT about rear view. After all what about vans, they don't all have rear windows. I have looked at construction and use regulations here and an interior mirror is actually optional unless there is no exterior mirror. I think, therefore, I would agree with flopper on this one as regards the interior mirror. If the car is pre 1978 the external mirror can be either side, if the car is post 1978 then it must be on the nearside (??!!!). This strikes me as odd 'cos it'll be no good to see if someone is overtaking you. |

Personally ... I still think 'stealth' is the way forward ....
