Not to, ah, defend the woman, but does our Jezza have a death wish? "Concerned this driver is dangerous," he "slows to explain"? Brake-checking someone already thought to be driving dangerously is quite simply insane. The only thing surprising about this incident is that she didn't actually run him over and drive off.

Stopping to chat was bound to wind her up even more. |

Stopping to chat was bound to wind her up even more. He's a journalist - encouraging a confrontation makes for much better copy. If an assault takes place then that is even better. He can, in addition, then adopt an attitude of high moral outrage - even better copy !! |

Without a camera he probably wouldn't have stopped - loads of "camera vigilantes" on the net.
However in the grand scheme of driving in London how much inconvenience is caused by having to let a cyclist be in front for a few hundred metres before you can pass? It's hardly 70mph everywhere territory! Sounding the horn and shouting abuse demonstrates someone who is unfit to be in control of a car. |

My thought was having had the bad tempered exchange, he should have moved to one side and let her go on her way for his own safety. Principles over self-preservation.
Also a good example of why it was pointless in London as cars get nowhere anyway. A question I would pose to an impatient driver is how long in your life have you been delayed by cyclists compared with traffic jams, tractors or slow lorries? In the end I think the fundamental issue is driving is too much bother for most people and they hate having to apply themselves to the problem of cyclists. |

If I had been in that short street and a cyclist was in front the last thing Id have done was to blast my horn at him/ her but if Id been a cyclist and a motorist bladted horn like she did i would have ignored her and been as awkward as possible. !!!

Maybe she was angry because her car is not taxed. How do you know this since Tax Discs are no longer issued? I think you can check tax and mot and such online with just a registration number, not 100% sure tho |

If the police had their priorities straight they'd be arresting Jeremy Vine for crimes against serious journalism.

He is the radio equivalent of the worst sort of red top journalism.
