Whilst working away I received 3 in 7 days from the same camera !
I wasn’t aware. I have a clean license.

I was doing 35, 36 and 37 in a 30 zone. I thought it was 40, obviously my error.

Lucky I was only away a week.
Is there anything I can do?
I only found out when I got home last and everyday one was popping through the post!
Three more in total from the same road same time almost same speed.

I know now but it’s a week too late!
New to this.

SAC (assuming you haven't done one in last 3 years) for the first one, and 3 points/£100 fine for each of the others.

Do you currently have any points on your licence?

What made you think it was a 40mph limit?

Can you provide a GSV?

You could try sending all three back in the same envelope with a grovelling letter pointing out your mistake and that you had no time to realise your error and amend your driving in this short period, and asking if they could possibly be considered a single offence. A long shot, but you have nothing to lose by it.

It was a main road and just following traffic. Probably had 5 tickets in 20 years.
I had a SAC 2 1/2 years ago.
Have clean licence currrently.
What is a GSV?
Thanks

I guess I could just not sure what to do.
My error but seems harsh 3 times and 35 mph. One more fluid through yet.
Happy to pay a solicitor if that’s an option.

SAC criteria are from offence to offence, could that me 3 years? GSV = Google Street View, a view from Google Maps. It is always an option to pay a solicitor, they will happily take your money and tell you of their successes, but without a defence available they are not going to get anywhere. GSV will show us if the limit was properly signed or whether there are streetlights.

The angle you could take is that had you been stopped at the time you would have had opportunity to 'correct' your error. The counter argument of course is that the Police would expect you to know the limit and not exceed it at all times.

A solicitor is unlikely to help other then emptying your pocket further.

Hi,
I had a look and it says spec 3 averaging camera. On at top one bottom.
Amazed I did see but only driven in dark up there.
It’s bells lane Nottingham.
I was driving up to Nottingham for 6 months, past all
Cameras on M1 etc so amazed not seen.
Keen to get to hotel I guess and averaged 35 in very small stretch.

I assume they don’t need to have big warning signs,
I can try the didn’t know as if I had one I would be aware.
I am back this week and next week so at least I know I guess.
I deserve one but 3 for 35 seemed harsh and can get a ban with next error!

Your best bet as has already been said to write a very polite letter back to the police saying that you're very sorry, realise how dangerous it is to speed and would definitely have learnt your lesson, only you received them in very quick succession. Please could the tickets be considered together?

The police have discretion to combine the tickets, if you catch them on a good day.

Hi,
If the police have the descretion then maybe it is.
Thanks.

I think you’re being a bit harsh there. A solicitor should give advice to the client, including "you have no chance, plead guilty". Whilst that advice will cost the client the solicitor would be very unwise to run an unwinnable case.

In fact no cameras need to have any warning signs at all, so their absence is no defence.

GSV Here.

It's a restricted road (30mph) by virtue of the system of streetlighting (in absence of a limit signed otherwise). These are the 'warning' signs. No other signage is required (other than the terminal signs at the start of the limit - but even their absence won't necessarily give cause).

Ok, possibly a bit flippant. Not all solicitors charge for statutory declarations either... wink.gif

Thanks.
I have passed that but it’s at 7pm. Never notice the camera and assumed bus stop.

I suppose speeding is speeding but 3 NIPs in 7 days for 35 mph was upsetting.

It is blue, does it not need to be yellow or am I clutching at straws!!!

Enforcement starts at 35mph. They are churned out by computer which is why the letter described above is worth trying.

It makes no difference I'm afraid.

We have seen cases where 4 or more such incidents have occurred and people have lost their licence due to totting. Your best (other than a conflation of offences) outcome would be 6 points which is annoying but could be worse.

I received two NIP in the space of two days from the same Camera. 36 and 37 mph in 30 zone, averaging speed cameras.
I admitted being the driver and then got FPNs, I got the conditional offers and paid both fines of £100 each within the 28 days.

However, as I needed my License for work, I didn't send out straight and then forgot!
That was 7 weeks ago. Only just realised.
I have heard nothing since, I checked online and my driving license is clean.
I have not had my £100 refunded either.

Will I get prosecuted still as it was low speed?

when would I expect the summons?
the offences were first week in Feb.

Should I email the police and cone clean?

Kind Regards

David

Only two ?

Nothing like making an already bad situation worse ....

You didn't comply with the conditions of the conditional offer, so the cases will be referred to court where the fine will be income related and with costs and surcharges added.

I would ring immediately and ask if you can send in your licence today, but it may be too late - but worth a call and a bit of grovelling.

(the 2 x £100 will be refunded at some point in the process)

What happened to the third ticket?

Have you contacted the camera office and asked politely if you can still send in your licence?

Normal procedure is to refund the money and send it to court but the refunds can take some time so a lack of refund doesn't mean they haven't refused to process the FPN. You will just need to rely on their discretion at this stage - assuming you haven't already used up their goodwill getting one of the offences put aside.

Hi,
Thanks.
I wrote a grovelling email and got one refunded. So I ensured I paid promptly.

It is not the fine I am worried about, Just the concerned I don’t get extra points.

Thanks
Kind regards
David
