NO MOT can I still park it on the road? |

My cars MOT ran out at midnight, Its taxed and insured.
As long as I dont drive it, can I park it on the road until it is sold? |

I think the answer to that is NO. A prospective buyer cant drive it either and insurance cover for a buyer is another issue. If you think it will pass would it not be worth getting it MOT'd as its more likely to sell with an MOT |

It is an offence to park a car on a road with no MOT.

Thanks for that, It will be moved later today/tomorrow.
It will cost 3 times what its worth to repair it, its been a good car, I've had little complaints but it 15 years old with 170K miles. Its advertised as for spares/repairs and any prospective buyer will know it doesn't have an MOT. This post has been edited by Korting: Thu, 17 May 2018 - 05:58 |

If it's just parked on the road is unlikely to get spotted. The DVLA are only looking for tax & insurance & unless the police take a look at the car for some other reason are unlikely to notice that there is no MOT.
I accidentally drove a car without MOT for several months in blithe ignorance of the lack of MOT but as soon as I realised when at work one day I got very nervous about driving home that evening in case I got nabbed even though it was very unlikely to happen. I would almost certainly say he didn't realise, friendly chap but a bit "Tim Nice But Dim". Once the MOT was sorted out, all was well, especially as he was selling the car around two grand under list price to boot heh. |
