Hi Everyone.

Driving on a dual carriage way and a traffic police car was parked up in a little lay-by (same side of the road I was on). If I was caught speeding would they of followed with their lights on and pulled me over? Or could I expect a letter in the post?

Cheers

It's possible.

How fast is it possible they may have clocked you at?

They will almost always stop you there and then unless there is a pressing reason why they can’t, they won’t normally stop anyone doing less than at least 15mph over the limit because then they will likely miss more serious speeders while they deal with that one.

Would say it could of been more than 15mph over. It was in an area that's been national speed limit and recently reduced by 20 mph to 50mph.

Good chance they were sitting on "patrol".... in which case you will hear nothing.
Also a good chance they had a speed gun/camera of some sort, in which case a notice could be on its way to the registered keeper.

They could have just been told to sit there and make people think of the limits just changed.
