Nothing to say really apart from another one filming themselves.

In which case it goes to the Flame Pit. There's a Sticky that will explain why.

What a muppet, all he had to do is wait 14 days before posting the video.

??
Isn't it 14 days from date of detection?
Not that I'm too sure that there would be a 14 day deadline in this sort of case?
There have been plenty other examples of people incriminating themselves via facebook and youtube.

I’d like to congratulate him, he obviously posted the video because he wanted lots of attention and he managed to get lots of attention.

Hopefully his previously vacuous and empty life now feels fuller for the experience.

I'm sure that the good folk of Derbyshire will sleep soundly in their beds knowing that the police are diligently engaged in such worthwhile pursuits as trawling through Facebook purely on the off-chance that they might come across a video of someone exceeding the speed limit. tongue.gif
No date, time or registration mark visible, so how did they go about finding him?

Apparently they chanced upon it while investigating something else:
QUOTE (Derbyshire Police)
The officers, who at the time were investigating an entirely different matter, could see the car was driving at well over the speed limit.

Well, duh, he posted it on his own Facebook page, under his own name, alongside lots of pictures of him with other cars he's had (complete with VRMs), and he's some kind of motoring journalist - and it wouldn't have been difficult to get Facebook to cough his IP address and track him down that way, either. You're at risk of making the sleuths at RSS with their whizzy Google Maps skillz look bright here. biggrin.gif

‘I'm sure that the good folk of Derbyshire will sleep soundly in their beds knowing that the police are diligently engaged in such worthwhile pursuits’

And you would be correct in your assertion.
Or are you being sarcastic?
We don’t need drivers like that round here thanks.

There is either a requirement to serve a NIP within 14 days of the date of the alleged offence, or there is no requirement to serve a NIP at all. Whilst one of our more 'gifted' members used to peddle the 14 days from detection line, even he has now accepted that it is utter bow-locks

In cases such as this, the issue would seem to be the exemption where the police could not with reasonable diligence ascertain the driver or RK's details in time to serve a NIP within the 14 days. Arguably this exemption to the requirement to serve a NIP was not intended for offences which did not come to light until it was too late, but then again, arguably the requirement to serve a NIP within the 14 days was not intended to enable people to post videos of themselves breaking the law with impunity outwith the 14 days.
