Do the cameras on the London bound smart motorway section of the M3 enforce the NSL? I was doing around 85 miles an hour first thing in the morning yesterday. The section was very empty and I hadn't realised the existence of the camera nor my speed until I had gone past it.

The gantry had no speed limits displayed at that time.

Not sure have had any from the new M3 "smart" section, however there have been plenty from other "smart" motorways such as the M1, M4.

Quick search on "M3" says there have been.

The ones I checked either were just queries along the same lines or ones where they think they were flashed but never came back to say that a NIP was received. Have you a link to an actual valid case?

Worst case scenario is that at that speed you are likely to be offered a course (if you do receive a NIP and haven't done a course within the last 3 years).

And...there's more than one camera on the 'smart' M3. Count them next time you go up there!

The only thing anyone here can be sure of is, you'll have to wait 14 days, assuming you're the RK.
