I came across an interesting read in the Department for Transport (DfT) Independent Complaints Assessors Annual Report, 2018-19. Loads of complaints from people who have re-registered classic cars & then got given a Q-plate rather than the original registration (are they justified? Does having a Q-plate reduce the value of a classic car?). Plenty of other interesting little vignettes either showing what pillocks some complainants are or what bastards the jobsworths at the DVLA can be, Worth a read https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/go...018-to-2019.pdf

The 'Q' plate can have an effect on value as well as insurance premiums.
Highlights include: The ICA criticised the DVLA for misspelling Mr AB’s name three times (and on two occasions wrongly assuming he was a woman) despite holding correct details on record, and despite a letter from Mr AB correcting the initial errors.
