I sold my old car on the 5th November privately. Due to having 3 young children and a busy job, it took me a couple of weeks to send off my form to the DVLA.

A couple of weeks after selling the car,I received 6 NIP’s from Dart crossing for non payment of tolls in my old car. I live in Swindon and the new owner lives just around the corner from the Dartford Crossing. I have never driven over the Dartford Crossing.

On receipt of the the NIP’s I wroure straight back to Dart Crossong advising that I had been a little slow in informing DVLA of change of ownership but was able to provide full contact details for the new owner.

Just before Christmas had a letter back from Dart Crossing, saying that they were not interested in my explainstio ...

I am now in the process of appealing and will include a signed document from the new owner (on the day of change of ownership) to confirm that I sold the car on 5th November.

Does anybody have any ideas how I can find a way round this?

NIPs are for speeding and the like. You have received PCNs.

You need the decriminalised part of the forum for best advice.

You can do this by hitting '! Report' on your post and ask for it t be moved.

--------------------
RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver
PoFA=Protection of Freedoms Act, SAC=Safety Awareness Course, NIP=Notice of Intended Prosecution, ADR=Alternative Dispute Resolution
PPC=Private Parking Company, LBCCC=Letter Before County Court Claim, PII=Personally Identifiable Information

Private Parking - remember, they just want your money and will say almost anything to get it.

Not NIPs I suspect and not a criminal offence, thread probably needs moving to the "decrim" section.

We're going to need to see some documents.
And a list of dates for :-
Each PCN
Each challenge
Each rejection

In theory, not being the owner and being able to provide proof should be enough.
But you haven't satisfied Dart Crossing and they are usually one of the more laid back and less grasping authorities.
So we need to see what you sent and what they replied, full copy, not a summary or paraphrase.
Have you spoken to DVLA?
What date do they acknowledge for change of ownership?
Will they put that in writing ?
