Hi, I've received a parking fine for the 07/06/19

I went into the car park which I assumed was the council car park and was in the car for the duration of the time not knowing I went into the Mecca Bingo Car park and now received a £100 fine??

I think it's ridiculous and I shouldn't have to pay it as I was in the car and there were no real signs I could see that said it was private?

I don't know what to do now as I can't afford to pay the fine and it's been over 28 days to even appeal it, if anyone can help me please, what should I do?

ParkingEye?

How long in the car park? What was it issued for?

Staying in the car doesn't preclude that you should have checked for signage. It doesn't matter whether you saw it or not but whether it was sufficient as any contract may be formed by your conduct ('parking').

If you've missed the appeal window then there's little you can do* other than pay it or see if they raise a court claim.

* Subject to what happened and whether the landholder is prepared to waive it

If not paying it is still advisable to submit an 'appeal' making a statement as to why the charge isn't enforceable, it may decrease the chances of a court claim (if done properly) and is the action of a reasonable person.

Indeed, some more detail would be helpful for context. As an aside does the rear of the PCN mention 'Protection of Freedoms Act' (if it is ParkingEye).

I was in the car park with some friends for about 50 minutes, it is parking eye and does say protection of freedom act on the rear of the PCN

Is this still an option if I've gone over my 28 days to appeal
