Hello all
Back in June 2019 mine and my partners vehicles parked in a buzz bingo car park, long story short both vehicles went over the 2hrs time . my partner has now received a letter from the courts asking for £511.50 for her vehicle I am not at a loss what to do , I was wondering if we could fight it or come to some settlement. If not I’m going to end up paying £1000 This post has been edited by adamthomson: Wed, 19 Jan 2022 - 10:52 |

Doesn't it say what they issued the pcn for on. That second one?
I, assuming it was open then? Calling might be an idea |

19/07/2019 - entered 11:14 and left at 11:57 This is the second pcn , I cannot see how this is an issue as i believe you are allowed 2hours free Even if 'free' for 2 hours there's often other requirements - such as pressing a button on a meter to get a ticket to display, or more often a terminal inside the building to put your registration in. -------------------- RK=Registered Keeper, OP=Original Poster (You!), CoFP=Conditional Offer of Fixed Penalty, NtK=Notice to Keeper, NtD=Notice to Driver
PoFA=Protection of Freedoms Act, SAC=Safety Awareness Course, NIP=Notice of Intended Prosecution, ADR=Alternative Dispute Resolution PPC=Private Parking Company, LBCCC=Letter Before County Court Claim, PII=Personally Identifiable Information, SAR=Subject Access Request Private Parking - remember, they just want your money and will say almost anything to get it. |

Indeed, or if the place is closed and it's a "customer only" carpark then the free period woukdnt apply,,as there is no way to be a customer
OP - have yiu sent a SAR yet? You will not get the info before you file your defence, and you will not get an extension to filing deadline, HOWEVER you can still write a defence. |

I haven’t sent anything yet , I am totally new to this so just trying to figure out what I need to do. There is no meter in the car park , it is a big open space with multiple shops etc Doesn't it say what they issued the pcn for on. That second one? I, assuming it was open then? Calling might be an idea No it doesn’t say what it is Could I call high view too or is it not worth the risk ? |

No, call the bingo hall. Was it open on that day?
You have one overriding objective - to file your defence in time. Don't lose sight of that. The point made is that IF it's "customers only" and IF it was closed, then the driver wasn't a customer. Do you understand this point? |

I have spoken to the manager today and he has requested that the fine be cancelled. Is this too late ? |

Almost certainly, the standard PPC contract won’t let them cancel now.
