Hi all
I had to park in a council car park for the whole day unexpectedly. Knowing the car park offers payphone I put all my eggs in one basket and had no cash. When I parked at 8.30am the app was playing up so with no cash I walked to my office knowing I could pay using the website. I paid the £2 for all day parking (it's £1 for half day) at about 945am. When I returned at 4pm I found the PCN on my car. I feel £25/£50 is unfair given they did not lose out on payment and they didn't lose another customer as the car park only ever has 20% of its capacity used (hence the low price). I haven't appealed yet but would appreciate some advice. Particularly on the fact the PCN states 'failure to display valid ticket' - well if the app had worked when I arrived I still would not be DISPLAYING a ticket. Thank you This post has been edited by getbutters: Sat, 15 Jun 2019 - 12:45 |

Can you document the problems with the app.
If you didn't pay until 9.45 that's an hour after the PCN so will be hard to justify. |

The app wouldn't let me advance to complete the payment, could have been the app, my data or even my phone to be fair. The hour gap is because that's how long it took me to walk to the client's office, log onto a computer |

Try paying for a session now by app and see what happens. That is if applicable on Saturdays.

OP, and the requirement in the car park is???
If displaying a P&D is an option then your point regarding display is meritless because all the CEO saw was the car with no ticket and no indication on their HHC that payment had been made. |

It does offer p&d as you say, I guess that's my options exhausted! Thank you both so much for the helpful advice, very much appreciated |

Show us the PCN, for all you know it may contain a fatal flaw.
