Does anyone know if these cretins do court?
I've been told by work I've got a ticket from them. Work have gave me three options: 1) Pay the fine at the reduced rate of £60- they've advised against doing this unless I'm really that way inclined. 2) Our admin team will write back and transfer liability to me and I can then ignore as I please or argue with them as I please. 3) Our legal team have offered to write to them appealing. I don't know if this is 'poking the bear' or whether its worth doing. This happened in Scotland, so no POFA to worry about and no POPLA procedure either. Annoyingly, it happened in a meeting where I was told by the receptionist at the venue I didn't need to pay because my number plate was entered into their system. Clearly it hadn't been! Venue deny all knowledge of this of this conversation taking place... I'm probably going to have to put in an SAR to get their CCTV from reception showing I spoke to her, but I'm not sure it will help me prove my case, hence my considering of the 'ignore' option. |

If Admin write back make sure you see the letter before they post it to ensure they dont let the cat out the bag by saying who the driver was.

Do they do court, yes, in Scotland, vanishingly rarely.
As above, get work to name you (no appeal is ever accepted so it’s a waste of time) as KEEPER, not that they have any liability anyway. -------------------- There is no such thing as a law abiding motorist, just those who have been scammed and those yet to be scammed!

I should probably mention this was in a pool car- it wasn't a personal company car, so I was only the keeper for that day. But I'll get them to do it that way, as the cars been sold now anyway so theres no danger of anymore CEL tickets coming in for it which would have anything to do with me/my collegues. My work are quite good at poker Freddy- they never force employees to pay these automatically which I've heard on here a lot of employers/rental companies do! And they certainly play show a poker face during pay negotiations, so I'm sure they can do it with parking firms very well! |
