Fully agree that on US jeeps the 30cal Browning would be favourite but soldiers being soldiers, if they got hold of an M2 Browning that would be on. Bigger is better
British Jeeps in the European theatres had Brens mounted as a standard fitment. Not all but some.
End of the day, if a soldier got hold of something that they could fit, they would fit it
Look over pictures and can even see water cooled Vickers on jeeps.
Or move into Korean conflict and 105mm recoilless guns found their way on.

True, but then there are all kinds of vehicles that are similarly difficult to stop - trucks and JCBs being obvious examples. Vans seem to have been used recently simply because they're easy to rent and don't attract attention on the way to their target.
