Apparently I was doing 25mph in a 20mph zone: if it really was a 20mph zone, I didn't consciously break that limit - so it seems possible to me that the signage wasn't adequate, or the radar wasn't properly calibrated (which I accept is probably unlikely). Receiving the NIP was the first time I was aware of the offence.

It is more likely you missed the signage (I haven’t got access to street view right now) but some limits aren’t particularly well signed but are legal.

The measurement is almost certain to be correct.

Take the course to avoid the points.

EDIT: no radar involved, speed measured by buried sensors. Repeater sign just before the camera and roundels on the road... (take the course)

The whole of Hackney is a 20 mph zone bar some parts of red routes. Ditto Islington.
