I'm asking this here as everyone is so knowledgeable
I came across several articles today about new laws regarding dogs in cars and I'm curious Is there any actual legislation about having dogs in cars? I'm aware that the Highway Code is only a code and not legislation but is there actually any legislation confirming this? Rule 57 of the Highway Code states "When in a vehicle make sure dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you while you are driving or injure you, or themselves, if you stop quickly. A seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog cage or dog guard are ways of restraining animals in cars." -------------------- |

Not in proper control could well apply from the number of people around here you see pushing the dog away because it is actually running around inside the car.
