Hello.

I wonder if anybody could please advise me of whether I could challenge a PCN I have received?

It states 'Parked in a special enforcement area adjacent to a dropped footway (27)'.

I'm not totally sure what it even means, but all I do know is that the side of the road I was parked on does not have a dropped footway at all. There is one on the opposite side of the road (which is a narrow road, to be honest), but I was in no way blocking access.

I have added photos of the PCN and also of the road. (The road photo has been screenshot from 'streetview', but bear in mind it is an old photo and the yellow lines are no longer there!) I have drawn on the photo approximately where I was parked.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

It means what it says but we need to see all of the pCN and the council photos use an external hosting site

I read some information on here aimed at new users advising to cover up any identifying information, therefore I covered my registration number.

I appreciate it means what it says but I don't understand what it says - or at least why it says it. To me, adjacent means 'next to' but I wasn't next to any dropped kerb, as there wasn't one on the side of the road I was on.

I'm not sure what you are referring to regarding council photos?

Sorry if I seem ignorant, but I've never had a parking ticket (or any vehicle or driving fine) in my life, so I'm not at all clued up on these matters. I appreciate any advice though.

We need to see the council's photos. There is a possible flaw on Bury's Notice of Rejection, if it gets that far.

The council officer will have taken photos of your car, they should be on the council website or if not, email them and ask. As this is the evidence that will be used against you, we need to see it.

Ah I see. Thank you for explaining. I will look for them now or email if I can't find them, and upload them as soon as I can access them.

That is the road I was parked on, although I don't understand what you mean by 'this is why we need the council pics'. Could you explain please? (Sorry I'm a bit naive with all this!)

Anyway, I have looked on the Bury Council website & also on the website of a company called NSL Services Ltd, who appear to be the parking management service they use, but I cannot find anything relating to any photos. I think I will have to contact one or the other to request them.

Get them if you were parked as you describe there is a good chance to beat this but we need to see exactly

They will say you were blocking a pedestrian crossing but it's important to establish exactly where you were.

Thank you...although not completely sure I did anything!
More to the point, I'm pretty sure I never did anything in the first place!

maybe they checked pics and saw you weren't over the crossing bit. Not often we see councils and especially their agents roll over so easily.

don't be hasty Inc, but good result The area does look more to be sunken and degraded rather than purposefully lowered
