Just went to go and fill up and there is a mobile cctv unit parked near the entrance i did notice that there were ANPR cameras mounted on the rear and a single dome camera at the front.

Any idea what they are used for? Seems strange to have ANPR only on the back when there are two entrances?

Maybe they were - they can stop there and then or follow up via post.

Maybe it was parked there for an unconnected reason and no cameras were operating.

I thought mobile CCTV were used for football matches, protests etc. ANPR cans here are usually unmarked.

Maybe he had just filled up and was waiting for his mate to return with the doughnuts.

I believe ANPR will check your insurance, but not tax?

That said there’s almost always a police presence at my local petrol station, which coincidentally has a decent coffee and pastry counter tongue.gif

With these sort of questions, the cynic in me often wonders if there is a reason to be concerned about what the van was doing ?

Nah nothing like that my car is taxed, insured and definartely cant speed on a forecourt lol so got nothing to worry about. Ive seen cash vans (speed cameras) and police using a gun and stopping people a bit further down but never seen a mobille CCTV unit before

Yes, DVLA do their own enforcement for Road Tax Evasion, but maybe this petrol station has had a lot of bilking.
Is it a BP by any chance?

Maybe the petrol station has a problem with bilking.
