Hi,
First time posting. I thank you in advanced for any replies. Could I appeal against a private parking company for displaying the reg number incorrectly on the pay and display ticket? Cut a long story short, I had to rush my Son to hospital, in a panic and worried. As I went to pay for the ticket that I displayed I accidentally put the first letter of my reg number in incorrectly. Obviously I was oblivious to this at the time and only found out by the PCN which was sent to my address. Has anyone been in this situation and would I be likely to win the appeal even tho it was a fault of my own? Thanks and best Regards. |

So their equipment failed to register the drivers VRM correctly. Edit so that driver cannot be inferred
Take this up with PALS at the hospital Pist up a redacted copy of the PCN but leave the dates. This post has been edited by ostell: Sat, 25 May 2019 - 20:07 |

As pointed out these machines are not perfect.
So, do not assume you made a mistake and edit your post as advised. "the driver" did everything |

Edit your posts to remove any hint of who was driving
Just describe the person as the driver Most companies that manage car parks at hospitals are members of the British Parking Association If the first appeal is rejected, there is a second stage appeal to POPLA POPLA's annual report says that companies should cancel parking notices when there is a trivial registration number error but the vehicle can be easily identified In my view, the requirement to enter the full registration is an unfair trading practice It has no purpose except to increase the possibility of a mistake that results in a crippling penalty that is out of all proportion The last three letters have 15000 combinations and easily identify the vehicle that arrived in a known time slot |
