I parked for about 20 minutes in a pub car park. The pub has been completely closed for 6 months! The car park states it is for pub customers only. I assumed that because it is currently impossible to be a pub customer I would be ok. Wrong.
London Parking Solutions issued a £60 PCN rising to £100 if not received within the next 10 days. I appealed immediately. My question is how often do LPS take people to small claims court. On another forum someone looked into it and the 'company' is run by a husband and wife team. The video cameras they are using are working perfectly though, they have many timed photos of my car in the car park. As a side issue, surely if the car park currently cannot be used by anyone - as the pub is closed down - surely there should be a barrier preventing entry otherwise it is just an inviting trap - an empty car park, situated right next to an overly packed car park, run by the very same LPS. I should add - I did exactly the same again 2 weeks' later so I can expect another similar notice through the post. This kind of 'fine' is hugely annoying and morally dubious. I wonder who the owner of the land is, and whether LPS have a contract with them to provide services (something they need if they are to operate a parking scheme). It may be that they do, but its a good angle to pursue.
What signs are in place within the car park? Do you have, or can you get, a pic? Did your appeal admit to who was driving? -------------------- Sometimes I use big words I don't understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

They are just offering parking to customers only. No offer of parking to others, a prohibiting sign that does not create a contract

Is this the Princess Alice in Thamesmead? If so the leasehold has been for sale since at least October last year:
https://www.fleurets.com/search.html https://www.fromthemurkydepths.co.uk/2018/1...ehold-for-sale/ It is currently owned by Milton Pubs and Taverns, an arm of Aprirose Real estate investment company who bought it from Mitchell & Butler in 2017, so who LPS have their contract with must be important in this instance. http://www.gordoncharles.co.uk/news/monday-22nd-october/ https://www.thecaterer.com/articles/506336/...ls-butlers-pubs This post has been edited by kaffenback: Sat, 23 Mar 2019 - 08:59 |

Yes it is the Princess Alice. And yes, whether LPS have a new contract with the new owners is important. |
