Hiya,
What does this sign mean? Can we park in a bay without a permit, because I've read it as that way- as long as we are in a bay, we can park there? I ask, because a PCN has been received now. There's also this sign: |

Please, I am quite possibly being thick or need specsavers but post one photo of where you were parked.
Put a cross on it, X marks the spot. Rebated areas.... in first and second pics I can see the kerb has been brought out, forming a rebate area for parking. But I can see no lines marked on the road. Pic with Disabled bay, I can see no marked lines either side. I can only see one small bay, in last pic, where there are road markings but no sign. And no clarity that was where you were parked. |

and last try: What is the relevance of this sign in your very first post? Where? Why did you take a pic of it? There's also this sign: -------------------- |

WE are not being funny with you BTW ZaZaa
We are simply trying to complete the chain of evidence that will say that you should win or may leave it in doubt. Better us then an adjudicator. |

to be completely honest, i, myself am annoyed by this.. because I'm posting this on behalf of my brother. he's so busy with work and not so savvy with these things, so i thought i'd try getting help.
And even I am confused and constantly ask him "where exactly did this happen, why are there 2 signs, please take a picture of your car in the "bay" and send it to me" etc. So sorry it's been so vague :S |

Ah well.... so the guy with the PCN canna be bovvered to sort out info that may be the difference between full amount, take the discount or easy win ?
To put it bluntly, if he was parked in a marked bay with no signs, then an easy win. If parked anywhere else or if that repeater sign was close by, far less certain. TBH, I find it difficult to believe that the CEO did not take pictures of the vehicle. I should also point out that an adjudicator will not simply accept "I was in a marked bay" They will expect some sort of evidence even if that is only a photo of the bay and a clear statement, "This was the bay I was parked in" This post has been edited by DancingDad: Sat, 23 Feb 2019 - 10:24 |

Zazaa to be honest if your brother can't be bothered or thinks this isn't worth his time, he might be better off just paying the £30. As we've repeatedly explained, he might have an overwhelmingly strong case, but that's dependant on your brother actually fighting his case, we can't do that for him.
I would have a word with him and ask him if he actually wants our (and your) help, or whether he'd rather just pay it. Otherwise we're all wasting time. It's not so much that he can't be bothered, and more just he doesn't have the time/energy because he's a doctor, and he commutes 50 miles each day. That doesn't mean he's "rich" and he should "just pay" because he "[i]may[i]" be able to afford it. He's newly qualified and these tickets and trying to understand where to park have been exhausting him on top.
I do apologise. I was hoping to figure it out for him from his pics and the pcn, but I do share the same struggle as yourselves. I just somehow thought I was potentially missing something that you'd be able to spot, but I understand that you're in the same struggle as I am, in terms of trying to ascertain where this happened and whether there's a chance to contest. Thank you all for your advice thus far. |

He has to either make time to answer a rather basic query or pay.
There is no other option unless he really wants to get in the deep and smelly stuff. Next stage is Notice to Owner...that means no discount option. Important...is the vehicle registered to him and is the V5c (registration document) up to date, correct address. That is where the NTO goes and many get into problems because the V5c is not updated after a move. If a lease car, tell us so we can explain what is likely to happen. After that a Charge Certificate, 50% extra on top and very little chance of getting the authority to listen to any challenges once that happens. Then come bailiffs and costs rocket. Ignoring PCNs or missing deadlines is one excellent way of having loads of money legally removed from his wallet. |

He's newly qualified and these tickets and trying to understand where to park have been exhausting him on top. The issue isn't whether he's rich or poor, the issue is whether he has the time and energy to deal with this at all. If he simply can't due to time constraints, paying the £30 penalty might be the pragmatic approach. As has been mentioned, if he does nothing at all, he risks facing a bill for hundreds of pounds. -------------------- If you would like assistance with a penalty charge notice, please post a thread on https://www.ftla.uk/index.php
