Hope I haven't missed this elsewhere.
We have passed the 5000 user mark, I thought a word of thanks and congratulations to Mika, Fredd and the other Moderators was in order. It is surprising that it has taken up till April 2006 to reach 5000.
I was confidently projecting this figure to be reached by Christmas 2005. For some reason, the flow of new members reduced substantially from August 2005 and in fact has not picked up again despite more publicity than ever before. Very strange?? -------------------- Chris

QUOTE (chris) It is surprising that it has taken up till April 2006 to reach 5000. well be prepared to be baffled, today is the 6th April and the stats on the boards says 5049 registered members and yet weavingweb is member 5214. Do I assume that Mr yahoo.com (and similar) who always appears to be here doesn't count Oh and the stats say 99,329 posts who is going to hit the 100,000 Edit.... anybody know why QUOTE Most users ever online was 81 on Yesterday, 14:46

If the account isn't activated within 5 days then it's deleted. The number of accounts is therefore always going to be greater than the number created. QUOTE Edit.... anybody know why QUOTE Most users ever online was 81 on Yesterday, 14:46 I think you probably spotted the reason yourself, here. -------------------- Regards,

Fredd,
Your post is #101641. Other than waiting until the odometer hits 100,000 and seeing which was the latest post, is there any simple way to tell whose post made it 100,000? -------------------- Andy

Fredd, Your post is #101641. Other than waiting until the odometer hits 100,000 and seeing which was the latest post, is there any simple way to tell whose post made it 100,000? Well, I guess you could argue that the 100,000th post has already been made - it's only because some have been deleted after they were written that the total in the database is lower However the answer to your question is no, I won't be able to tell for sure which post it was, unless there are no deletions between checks before and after the magic number is reached. Looks like it could be an interesting race - let's hope we get into the critical zone around 99,995 at a civilised hour of the day! -------------------- Regards,

Most users ever online was 89 on Today, 12:34 And another "surge" in memberships yesterday and today Welcome MCN readers B) I found you by reading the MCN article even though I haven't ridden a bike for 20 odd years. My biker neighbour lent me a copy when I mentioned in conversation over the garden hedge, that I had been zapped in the town centre and was thoroughly p155ed off and staring at points 7,8 & 9 on my licence. Paid up for membership immediately and currently going down the PACE route for starters! Thanks for all the guidance to date! |
