Hi all, I received the PCN below for not parking in a marked bay. Where do I stand with complaining about this ? I thought I’d parked in a bay, admittedly it wasn’t marked out but the space where I parked was the exact same size as a parking bay. I’ve had a look and there is a whole row of 7 cars that are parked on different coloured paving slabs but they aren’t actually marked bays. How was I supposed to know that where I was parking wasn't classed as a bay ? Thanks in advance mark

The parking company and the 'independent' appeal service won't help you.

So first of all complain to the retail centre but that will go one of two ways - either they'll help you or simply say you have to deal with the parking company.

Ultimately, this is something that would need to be argued at court - we can't see a lot from the pictures but if it is unclear where the bays are then you have a good chance.

Is this the location?

Hi Jlc, yes this is the location, I was parked where the lee is a bin on google maps. It also shows where there is a row of unmarked bays. I’ve just noticed that there is an area marked out no parking, so this makes it even more deceiving where I parked 🤷🏼‍♂️

'Marked bays' is tenuous to me.

If that area wasn’t to be parked in then it should have the yellow box with 'no parking' too!

Looks like a honeypot area to me where they will issue many many tickets...
