Hello,
I've spent some time looking through the forums and have found them very helpful. However I just wanted to find out if there's anything I'm missing. I received a NTK in the post. It describes a parking charge for Arundel Street. The vehicle listed on the PCN was never parked on Arundel Street. The spot where the vehicle was parked had no markings, bays, yellow lines or otherwise. On Google Maps the street bears a completely different name. Does anyone have advice as to how I should proceed? Here's the redacted PCN: Thanks in advance. |

Thanks for your reply Redivi,
Where do you think you were because the nearest SIP car park that I can find on Parkopedia is Great Jackson Street ? To clarify, I'm not referring to where 'I' was in this thread, only what's written on the NTK. In relation to this PCN however, there is another road next to Arundel Street called Balmforth Street (marked with a pink x) which the SIP employee might have thought they were recording when issuing the PCN. I believe the SIP car park is on Arundel street. This post has been edited by oldjoe: Wed, 18 Jul 2018 - 17:30 |

Found it on Streetview
It's called Arundel Street Car Park Strange design It runs around two sides of the building on the corner and the bays are accessed by driving over the pavement https://mapstreetview.com/#vu3v6_-1cgey_17.b_-6g42 Wonder if there's planning permission for the car park because the yellow lines continue up to the building line |

That's it. So what do you think about the validity of the PCN seeing as the vehicle was not on Arundel street as stated on the PCN?

QUOTE That's it. QUOTE The spot where the vehicle was parked had no markings, bays, yellow lines or otherwise. The pic of "That's it" shows signs, lines and a very large pay and display machine in the corner. So were they added later or is this really the place? |

Sorry, by that's it, I meant that's arundel street. The vehicle was parked on Balmforth street where there are no road markings.

Is that the road that has the big yellow barrier indicating a private road and the big sign saying "No Parking?"

Are you saying this pcn is valid and I should pay it?
Just for clarity, what you describe as a big sign is actually about twelve inches across and rotated at 90 degrees and suspended over ten feet high up in the air. Hardly something easy to notice. The barrier and sign were never even seen. Also, when travelling from Arundel street the SIP signs are not visible. If you're driving up the road at night looking for roadside parking by checking for kerb markings you probably won't see the no parking sign. QUOTE Are you saying this pcn is valid and I should pay it? No. I'm saying that this one won't be easy and if SIP (Gladstones) do a proper job with their pics you could have a difficult day at a hearing. So you might just want to do an early Subject Access Request to check what pics they have and the quality of them. This post has been edited by emanresu: Sat, 21 Jul 2018 - 16:08 |

Thanks Emanresu, I'll have a read up on Subject Access Requests and try to get the pics.
