Hi fine people of this forum,
I am looking for some advice on a 31J PCN I received today for 'entering and stopping in a box junction when prohibited'. I would basically like to know whether this is a 'cut and dry' case and I need to pay up or whether I have a case to fight this charge. For some context, I am the red MX-5 in the video, I've never driven on this road before and with the usual ebb and flow of traffic in London, it was moving at a reasonable pace (20-30 mph). I followed the white car in front as given the pacing of the traffic, it looked from my perspective like it would quite clearly make it past this large yellow hatched box. From my perspective, the white car also stops quite short, leaving a large gap between itself and the black car in front of it. I find it such a difficult judgement to make in this instance given the size of the hatched area, the general unpredictable nature of the traffic and the fact that cars are generally (as normal traffic does) following one another quite closely. I'm fully aware of the fact I'm not supposed to stop in a hatched area but feel like I've been shafted here as I've never driven on the road before and was doing my level best to follow the rules. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibUkyWcK154 Thanks in advance for any suggestions/advice! |
