NIP Details and Circumstances
What is the name of the Constabulary? -
Date of the offence: - May 2019
Date of the NIP: - 26 days after the offence
Date you received the NIP: - 33 days after the offence
Location of offence (exact location as it appears on the NIP: important): - A34 nee town row between new john street and Newbury road
Was the NIP addressed to you? - Yes
Was the NIP sent by first class post, second class or recorded delivery? - Not known
If your are not the Registered Keeper, what is your relationship to the vehicle? -
How many current points do you have? - 0
Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons - Was heading home after work about 22.30 and was speeding as no one about and never knew of the average speed camera. Been heading the same route to and from work since I started driving november 2018 and never been picked up before but it May been copped 4 times by the same camera at about the same time

NIP Wizard Responses
These were the responses used by the Wizard to arrive at its recommendation:
Have you received a NIP? - Yes
Are you the Registered Keeper of the vehicle concerned (is your name and address on the V5/V5C)? - Yes
Did the first NIP arrive within 14 days? - No
Was there a valid reason for the NIP's late arrival? - No

NIP Wizard Recommendation
Based on these responses the Wizard suggested that this course of action should be considered:
  • The first NIP to the Registered Keeper must arrive within 14 days unless there is a valid reason why that was not possible, for example a recent change of details.

This link will take you to the advice provided by the RAC's legal team.

Is your vehicle new to you or have you changed address? Get out the V5C for it and check that it shows your full correct name and address and that the date on page 2 at the bottom next to the doc ref number is prior to the incident.

You have been caught multiple times or you think you have? Are you a new driver?

What's the alleged speed/limit?

i have had a 4 NIP's from the same camera same location around about the same time, about 22.45 each time. the first i sent off straight away as was genuinely worried and never checked the dates and what not. then received the rest a few days later. i shouldnt have been speeding either way, and have since been following everything as 6pts and will lose licence so what will be will be but hopefully i can get away with it with a lesson well learned.
its a 30mph and i was doing from 33 to the highest being 61 as had a major issue at home and was stupid of me.

If you are a new driver (gained first full entitlement less than 2 years ago) then you will be losing your licence.

61 in a 30 is likely to be an outright ban.

Not sure what you mean here?

Every single offence will be pursued. You can throw yourself to their mercy (multiple offences before getting notification to adjust) but with one at double the limit I think it's a lost cause.

Anything up to 49mph (usually) can be dealt with by fixed penalty (3 points £100) - anything up to 42mph will be offered a course to avoid points.

As noted, 61mph can only be dealt with at court. Guidance for New Drivers would be considered to prevent the revocation but the other offences seem to take you there anyway.

Have you actually checked the dates? A NIP that late would be very unusual as the system should prevent it being sent out. Could there be a confusion between offences, as there were four of them?
