Hello,

Not really sure how to proceed with this one so I'll just type out the story. 15/12/2018 I turned up to work to discover a leak. Dashed off to a plumbing store to get some leak repair tape. Parked on a single yellow outside the front of the store (knew I was taking a chance, didn't think an officer would be there so quick, and there were multiple vehicles parked on the single yellow already.

I was aware it was out of the parking hours so knew the risks but due to water flooding in to my building (brand new fit out too, was literally opening the Monday after) I took a chance. Waited in the queue, saw the officer outside approach my car, dropped everything and ran to my car to move it. Officer said he'd already written the ticket so I admitted defeat and headed back in to the store. The officer then quickly slipped an empty envelope under my wipers and took a photo. I walked out, drove off and when I got back to work I saw that the envelope was empty.

I thought I'd play it out and see what happened and the other day the fine arrived in the post.

I have the empty envelope, marked as from the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. It still has all the little strips on it which are removed when the PCN is inserted, so it's fairly clear that it was empty.

The road in question is here, I was parked exactly where the black Prius is.

I wouldn't mind paying if the ticket was issued properly, but the fact the officer waited for me to jump out the car, quickly shoved an empty envelope under my wipers only so he could take a quick photo really annoyed me.

Anything I can do?

Hi all,

Just to update this, I ended up paying the £65 fee however their CEO clearly lied about how the ticket was issued and they sided with him. I could've gone down the route of CCTV but my employer agreed to pay for it and it's not worth the time so I just paid it and will claim it back.

I would've loved to fight back but life's too busy at the moment.

Thanks again for the help smile.gif

Fair enough, your money, your decision.

It does irk me when CEOs play fast and loose with the rules but I agree it can be a pain to prove.
