Provide a description of events (if you know what happened) telling us as much about the incident as possible - some things that may seem trivial to you may be important, so don't leave anything out. Please do not post personal details for obvious reasons - I have been given two NIP's on the same day, same camera from both directions. Doing 41 and 43 in a 30 zone. The road did not have any street lights, it's looked like a rural road. Iooking on Google Street view it changes from 60 to 30 in one direction and from the other direction I was doing 30 going through a small villages that had street lights but after leaving the village did not notice a 30 sign, my bad! This will be my first time getting any speeding tickets. What are people's opinions on how bad this is going to be for me? Will I get option for speed awareness, fixed points (how many?), Or will I go to court?
NIP Wizard Responses
These were the responses used by the Wizard to arrive at its recommendation:
Have you received a NIP? - Yes
Are you the Registered Keeper of the vehicle concerned (is your name and address on the V5/V5C)? - Yes
Did the first NIP arrive within 14 days? - Yes
Although you are the Registered Keeper, were you also the keeper of the vehicle concerned (the person normally responsible for it) at the time of the alleged offence? - Yes
Were you driving? - Yes
Which country did the alleged offence take place in? - England
NIP Wizard Recommendation
Based on these responses the Wizard suggested that this course of action should be considered:
You should note that there is nothing to be gained by responding any earlier than you have to at any stage of the process. You are likely to receive a Conditional Offer of a Fixed Penalty (COFP) and further reminder(s). If you want to continue the fight, you should ignore all correspondence from the police until you receive a summons. You need to understand from the outset that while you will receive much help and support from members on the forums, you will need to put time and effort into fighting your case and ultimately be prepared to stand up in court to defend yourself.

One speed awareness course and one offer of a fixed penalty of £100 and 3 points. It won’t go to court unless you do something to make that happen.
Location GSV?
Morrisman - yes that’s the location and it was not a gastso as the NIP’s show me in both directions so a truvelo camera. GSV is old.
Are other people in agreement that I might get an awareness course for on NIP and fixed fine of £100 and 3 points for the othe NIP? Thanks for all your replies.
Yes.
Ok so I received conditional offer for the second NIP of 3 fixed points for doing 43mph in 30 zone. My next question if the second NIP for doing 41mph comes through as conditional offer of speed awareness or 3 fixed points, what do I do?
Would I have to take the points? Or would I be able to do the speed awareness course if I take the 3 points for the first offence committed on same day, same camera? I ask as I would I have 3 points on licence appear on database wouldn’t I? Meaning I would not be able to do the course and have to 6 points on licence! Confused! Advice please?
Police are not obligated to offer a SAC for any offence. If offered you should take it,unless you have a cast iron defence.
Having points isn't a factor in offering/taking a course.
