I've spotted a couple of times now, an anonymous Transit sized plain white van on the M25. Both times it was travelling at speed under blues & twos (blues inside windscreen and in grille).

I assume it's a van equivalent of the ubiquitous unmarked car but does anyone know anything more about it?

If you get the reg you can call the MET on 020 7230 1212 and confirm it's legit. There's a 99% chance its just an unmarked van, but there have been instances of some wannabe cops fitting lights bought of ebay to their private vehicles. In my part of the world one went as far as pulling someone over.

The A1 around stevenage south to london always has un marked cars and vans on blues and twos, sometimes 2 or 3 at a time.

Try it in the Midlands, at least one unmarked Artic Cab cruises the Motorways.

Or more probably occasionally one unmarked tractor unit cruises the motorways, hauling a load of journos.

At least the one in that article wasn't rather unsubtly liveried up with Battenburg like one they've used before.

Quite possibly, we get treated to reports on the evening news occasionally so that may be the annual jolly.
